K. Balakrishnan has been a career Customs Officer since 1976 until his retirement in August 2007.
His vast experience includes dealings with the business community as regards to customs matters; taxation (Customs duty, excise duty, sales tax and service tax); the Licensing of various activities/business subject to government compliance under the various legislations administered by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Malaysia and its enforcement, investigation and prosecution; and the provision of facilities granted under the law to promote the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
