The Management Prerogatives
The management prerogatives are rights possess by the Management, which the Industrial Jurisprudence recognizes in relation to their employees. The Industrial Relation Act 1967 and Employment Act 1955 implicitly recognizes managerial rights or prerogatives.
Issues of promotion and demolition, transfer, closure and shutdown, retrenchment & reorganization, fulfillment of vacancies arising within the company termination, dismissal, retirement & retrenchment, reinstatement of employee and allocation of specific duties or tasks. These managerial rights are qualified prerogative subject to scrutiny by court.
